Using the browser's native Canvas drawing capability, content is extracted directly from the original based on your selected pixel range and re-encoded — the whole process never touches a server, and both the original and cropped images only exist in your device's memory.
Even with a consistent crop ratio, every photo has a different composition and subject position, requiring you to manually adjust the crop box's size and position for each image individually — there's no way to apply the same crop coordinates to images with different compositions. So cropping is designed as a tool for fine-tuning one image's framing at a time — open and adjust each image separately when you need to process multiple.

No. Cropping simply extracts a region of pixels directly from the original based on your selection box — there's no scaling or interpolation involved, so the extracted portion is exactly as sharp as the corresponding area in the original. The only possible slight loss comes from re-encoding a JPG after cropping, which is the same principle as compression and falls within normal range; PNG/WebP re-encoded after cropping have no such loss.

Cropping fundamentally redraws and re-encodes the image: PNG's transparency channel is preserved; but if the original has a transparent area and needs to be encoded as JPG, the transparent part will be filled with white. The original's EXIF capture data and location metadata are not preserved after re-encoding — use the “EXIF Viewer/Remover” tool if you specifically need to view or remove that data.
